Arizona Charter School of the Year
AMS was named the 2016 Arizona Charter School of the Year by the Arizona Charter Schools Association.
We’re growing by 30% each year and have regular opportunities for promotion and career mobility.
We’ve expanded by 1000 students in the last 4 years. In the next 3-5, we will expand by another 3000 students. To meet the needs of at-risk Arizona communities, we need an average of 50 new teachers a year. And if you’re interested in leadership positions long term, we also have a yearly need for lead teachers, instructional coaches, assistant principals, and network staff.
We are among the highest performing Title I schools in Arizona; in fact, one of our campuses is the highest performing K-8 school with greater than 70% F/R in the state of Arizona out of 293 such schools.
We seek highly motivated and passionate teachers who want to make a difference. The professionals we hire are the most intelligent and the most talented experts in their fields. We live by our motto…
Join us and use your creativity and expertise every day. Here’s what some of our current staff are saying:
“Having worked in schools for ten years, I can confidently say that AMS is one of the best schools in the state of Arizona. Parents are involved and the students strive to meet the high expectations set for them. Above all, I feel the authenticity and sincerity of the staff are the school’s greatest strengths. Teachers here genuinely care, and the results are plentiful.”
“I continue to enjoy the challenges that the job presents. AMS has a wonderful staff that works arduously to meet the needs of their community. Teachers push students to accomplish their goals and discover untapped potential. We meet frequently to talk about what positive changes need to be made. The core belief that students are capable of learning remains true.”
“Having experience in a handful of public schools, I can say that AMS is, by far, the best academic community I have encountered. Students form bonds and develop relationships across grade levels. Our families embrace their students, flooding their malleable minds with encouragement, perseverance, and the DESIRE to succeed.”
If your application matches our current needs, you will receive an email (typically within 2-5 days) with brief content assessments and a link to schedule an interview with the hiring principal. If you don’t currently live nearby, you may schedule a Skype interview. For some positions two interviews may be required, but not always.
Submit a detailed resume describing your experience (complete with dates of employment) and data-supported accomplishments. For some positions, include a cover letter OR writing sample showcasing your written communication skills and demonstrating your alignment with the AMS mission and competencies. If you are interested in multiple positions, only one application is needed, and we will consider you for all potential matches.
If selected for the position, our hiring team will contact your references, which are submitted with your initial application but not contacted until this point. We will need 3 professional references including at least 1 supervisor, and preferably from your most recent place(s) of employment.
If at any point during the hiring process you have questions, concerns, or a change in your timeline, we welcome you to contact our dedicated talent acquisition specialists: firstname.lastname@example.org.
